RiverHills Bank awarded Community Partnership Award
In Ohio, FHLB's Community Partnership Award was awarded to RiverHills Bank for their continued work with the Ohio Women's Affordable Housing Network (OWAHN), an organization committed to the empowerment and development of women working in the affordable housing sector through partnership, networking, advocacy and community engagement. This award, which included a grant of $5,000, recognizes RiverHills Bank's continued partnership with OWHAN.
Millie Hurtt, an employee of RiverHills Bank and a dedicated OWHAN member, shared her perspective. "RiverHills Bank is proud and thankful to have received a grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, enabling our support for the Ohio Women's Affordable Housing Network (OWAHN) Scholarship Fund,” said Hurtt. “Through this initiative, OWAHN provided fourteen scholarships for LIHTC Fundamentals & Advanced courses and paid for the Specialist in Housing Credit Management certification exam fees."
Founded in 2021, OWAHN is a state-wide organization that brings together women from all sectors of the affordable housing industry to carry out their mission. These women and allies have impacted an estimated 5 million housing units. OWAHN is hosting over 50 virtual events in 2024 (this does not include the state/region-specific WAHN events), impacting organizations across the region.
"These scholarships help to empower and develop women in the affordable housing industry by assisting them to attain the knowledge, experience, and competencies required to excel and grow their careers," said Hurtt. The grant of $5,000 will bolster OWAHN's mission and give women in the organization access to funds to pay for these important certifications.
Congratulations to RiverHills Bank and OWAHN on this award and we look forward to continuing to see their partnership prosper.
