Daisy's Slone's Home Reconstruction

In July 2022, flooding ravaged Inez, Kentucky severely damaging Daisy Slone's house which had been home to her family for over 100 years. Thanks to the Federal Home Loan Bank's Disaster Reconstruction Program (DRP), Daisy received $20,000 in assistance to rebuild.

The grant, awarded to FHLB Cincinnati member Peoples Bank for her benefit, played a crucial role in the reconstruction process. After several months of work, Daisy returned to her home and expressed her gratitude at the ribbon cutting ceremony on April 16, 2024.

"It takes a neighborhood to raise a family. To have my neighborhood back brings me joy," said Daisy.

Now, back in her home, Daisy looks forward to creating new memories in the place that holds so much history for her family. Her story highlights the effectiveness of FHLB Cincinnati’s Disaster Reconstruction Program in helping individuals rebuild their lives after natural disasters.
