Habitat of Henderson Dedicates Home

October 31, 2022

Karen Raber received the keys to her new home on October 27 during a dedication ceremony in Henderson, Ky. The home was built by Habitat for Humanity of Henderson and many volunteers.

It is Raber’s first time owning a home, something she was uncertain she would ever experience at the age of 67.

“I never thought I would have a real home. I thought I would be living in an apartment for the rest of my natural life,” Raber said.

The home is the 75th home built in the history of Habitat for Humanity of Henderson, a feat made possible, in part, by funds from FHLB’s Affordable Housing Program (AHP). Over $700,000 in AHP grant funds have been awarded to FHLB member Field & Main for the benefit of Habitat since 2005.
