FHFA Director visits FHLB Cincinnati and Knowlton Place
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Mel Watt visited FHLB Cincinnati in January to learn more about the FHLB and see the Affordable Housing Program in action. The Director and his team visited Episcopal Retirement Services' Knowlton Place in the Cincinnati neighborhood Northside where he had the opportunity to speak with residents and the community manager about their experiences.
The residents at Knowlton Place lauded the amenities of the facility as a whole, but were quick to mention the best part of living there was the community formed by residents and the community manager. Knowlton Place was made possible, in part, with an FHLB Cincinnati Affordable Housing Program grant of $559,944 through member U.S. Bank. The facility encompasses 56 multi-family rental units that are reserved for low- and very low-income tenants who are elderly.
Director Watt was not only impressed with the facility, but also the significant impact the Affordable Housing Program is making in the Fifth District of Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
